Do you know "fear not" is quoted in scripture over 365 times? Do you think God was just a little bit serious about NOT allowing fear to enter our minds? Yet, its the number one reason, as human beings, that we do not propel our lives forward. Were afraid to fly, so we do not travel. Were afraid to hope, so we don't dream. Were afraid to share our lives, so we don't love. In being "afraid", we don't take risks and we never grow and become the amazing people we were created to be or experience the life Jesus gave His life for us to have. We miss our purpose, our mission...the very thing that would fulfill us.
I am as just as guilty of the next person of "fearing", so when I get this way, I think of all the times I chose Faith over fear and experienced incredible joy and victory. If I had chose fear of the unknown and "what If'", I would not have our beautiful daughter we adopted from Guatemala...I mean, "what if birth Mom changes her mind. What if she has a medical issue?" But I chose faith....and she's home! What if I love this person and they don't love me back? If I had not chose love, I would not have my amazing life partner and best friend, my husband and with that, my beautiful 3 boys. What if I get to mile 10 and I can't finish? I would not have experienced the absolute adrenaline rush you feel when you cross the finish line of a 25k!
What if? BUT WHAT IF YOU DON'T? ...... That's really the "What If" in life?
